Azadi Square in Tehran as a Tourist Attraction, known as Shahyad Square before the Islamic Revolution, is the largest square in Tehran. Tehran's Azadi Square architecture is very unique, and the Azadi Tower has become a symbol of Iran due to this beautiful architecture. Each section of this unique structure refers to one of the historical periods in Iran. For example, the foundations of the Achaemenid architecture, the main arch of the Sasanian architecture and the high arch of the architecture of the post-Islam period have been inspired. It should be noted that one of the main components in most Iranian structures is dome, which is also a very beautiful example in the Azadi Tower.
Azadi Square or Shahyad
In the second half of the 1940's, the design of the western gateway to Tehran, in the vicinity of Mehrabad International Airport, and many of the routes from the western parts of the country to Tehran, exposed to the public, tourists, high-ranking guests Political, and so on, were put into a match. In this contest, the winner was Hossein Amanat, who was then a graduate student at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Tehran. The main part of this building was executed for thirty months, with high quality performance and details for this building, and it was opened on October 24, 1350, and its lateral parts were used in 1353 AH.
A combination of two pairs of arches intersecting and white volume and 45 meters high in four floors, symbolizing the continuity of Iranian culture, art and civilization. The bodies of white stone with turquoise blue creeks are the main body of the building. The concepts such as magnificence, glory, strength, beauty, order, geometry in the architecture of the building are carefully considered.
The field is almost elliptical. Its large diameter is 380 meters long along the east-west axis and a small diameter of 210 meters along the north-south. The area and area of the field are about 68 thousand square meters and 980 meters respectively. The gradient of the Earth's surface is 1.5% and its direction from north to south.
The entrance to the Azadi Tower is located in an open courtyard at a height of 5 meters below the ground. This enthralls you to the underground floor, which includes the northern side, the guard, the ticket sales, the eastern side, the Iranian hall, the passage of the past, on the south side and the ceremonial hall. Earlier, it was possible to enter the tower through the stone slabs each weighing 3.5 tons, but later these doors were closed and today it is possible to enter through the glass doors.
The floor is located 23 meters above the surface of the square and is surrounded by the main arch and the eastern and western sides of the tower. This floor is used to change the elevator.
The height of the third floor is 33 meters from the Azadi Square and a concrete dome is visible in the middle. In this building you can watch the interior architecture of the Azadi Tower and get acquainted with the art of designer and architect.
The fourth floor of the Azadi Tower is 39.5 meters high and there are openings in the form of irregular hexagons that can be viewed from above through Tehran.
